I’m a pastor and I’ve been in ministry for 20+ years. Why do I need the ICM?
Regardless of our years of experience, the sizes of our churches or the nature of our gifting, leaders are people with human problems and needs. The ICM offers peer relationships, safe places for confidentiality and vulnerability and opportunities for voluntary accountability. You will have access to a team of mature leaders who offer gifts and counsel in the areas of administration, church structure and government, building programs, theological teaching, bible schools, pastoral issues, apostolic and prophetic ministry. The ICM is a synergistic connection to a world-wide spiritual fellowship that enhances the scope of our ministry/business.
I’m a young pastor who began a church a few years ago. How can I benefit from the ICM?
Because God is trans-generational, He deposits wisdom and maturity in the hearts of men and women who are called to be spiritual elders to the next generation. Through the ICM, you will develop relationships with experienced, knowledgeable and seasoned eldership who have dealt with nearly every possible ministry situation that you will encounter in your life and ministry. The ICM is a resource for giving you counsel and wisdom for your growing ministry.
Does the ICM provide ministerial credentials for licensing and ordination?
Yes. However, we view the Licensed and Ordained Ministries as sacred offices different from the general laity in that one is duly called, prepared, examined, ordained and authorized to minister the Word of God and the sacraments of the Christian Faith to the people of God. The ICM will be diligent to not lay hands upon anyone quickly, but rather we will be careful to make certain that the gifts and callings of that office are resident within the individual prior to consecration. Consequently, we have a very deliberate process by which candidates receive credentials.
I’m not a pastor, but I am a Christian doing business in the marketplace.
Is the ICM for me?
The Kingdom of God is not limited to the church. It is the reign of Christ in the hearts and minds of men and woman who are engaged in all forms of human enterprises, professions and service. Through the teachings and seminars of the ICM, God’s character and His value system can be incorporated into the vision of your marketplace ministry. More than developing a good business model, you’ll learn how God can use you in your vocational calling to further His cause on earth.
I’m a member of other networks and/or fellowships. What is unique about the ICM?
Being a member of the ICM does not preclude your involvement with other networks or ministries. We believe the interaction of a variety of ministry resources, ideas and counsel are the signs of healthy Christian fellowship. The Uniqueness of the ICM lies in our belief that God has gifted and called all people, both in the Church and in the Marketplace, to be His ambassadors throughout the world. We join together to demonstrate God’s Kingdom in every segment of society. We govern ourselves relationally through the plurality of eldership and the recognition of functional distinctions. And, as obvious as this may sound, one of our unique approaches is that we seek to hold to the Biblical norms of orthodox Christianity. |
